What places could better help commemorate and perpetuate your Greek wedding? There are two important archeological sites in Aigina; the pillar (kolonna) in Aegina town, and the Afaia Temple in Ag. Marina. The pillar is close to the sea, so you can easily combine it with a beach photo shoot, or with getting some pictures in Aegina town. The Afaia Temple is on a mountain, surrounded by pine trees and with a view of the Saronic gulf.
If you are getting married in St. Apostolos church at “Fanari tou Bouza”, the Bouza lighthouse makes for amazing pictures. It is surrounded by sea on three sides, and the sunset here is absolutely amazing. Even on a cloudy day, photographers love this place. There is simply no way to ruin this setting.
Aegina Town is full of perfect frames for your wedding pictures. Old style cafes and the neoclassical buildings in the harbor are gorgeous settings, and very typically Greek. Other great spots are in front of the tiny boats serving as floating fruit markets, and the traditional fishing boats out on the pier.
You can have your pictures shot at the beach in front of Irides, or at any of the other beautiful, sandy or rocky beaches in Aegina. There are great options all around the island. If you choose to have your pictures taken at the beach around sunset, we can assure you that magic will occur. The light and colors are unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It is also possible to do an additional shoot at the beach the day after the wedding (when a wedding dress and water actually makes a great combination).
The valley of Eleona, is a mountain valley full of beautiful 1500-2000 year old olive trees. This scenery is magical, and famous brands such as Hermes have shot their ads here. If you want your pictures shot in nature, yet still in a meaningful historical place, this is perfect for you.
